Window Repair Brixton

A window that sticks, leaks or lets the cold in is a daily irritation, and a smashed one is a real worry. I have run Direct Glass for over three decades and my team repairs windows across Brixton, from Victorian terraces to converted flats. We carry glass and common parts with us, so most jobs are finished in one visit. Call us and we will get your window working properly again.

Window Faults We Put Right in Brixton

window-repair-brixton

We arrive with glass, tools and the parts most jobs need already loaded.

Your window is inspected and the fault explained without jargon.

The repair is completed on site wherever it can be.

Everything is tested, the area swept, and nothing left behind.

Repair First, Replace Only if We Have To

Plenty of Brixton homes have windows that look beyond saving but only need a new hinge, a fresh sealed unit or a proper adjustment. That is always where we start. A full frame replacement costs far more than it needs to, and on period properties it can spoil the look of the house. We will tell you honestly what your window needs and what it does not.

Direct Glass were extremely helpful to me when I needed a couple of windows fixing on the same day. They did everything they could to make sure the job was done asap and they have me a really good price too. The work itself was done really well, the guys were lovely to have around and they cleaned up really well afterwards. Very happy customer! Highly recommend 👌

Very happy to recommend this family run/local business. And a special shout out to Amber for answering my queries/being flex on my install date. 5* from me!

FAQs

Can a misted double glazed window be fixed without a new frame?

Almost always. The frame is usually sound and only the sealed unit has failed, so we measure the opening and fit a new unit into it.

Often, yes. We can source hinges, handles and locks for systems discontinued years ago, and where a part no longer exists we fit a compatible alternative.

It should be. Replacement locks and handles meet current standards, which on an older window is usually an improvement on the originals.

Yes. Much of our Brixton work is in first and second floor flats. Most repairs are done from inside, and where outside access is needed we arrange it beforehand.

Very often it is. Age alone does not mean a window has had its day, and a well made frame can carry on for years once the moving parts and glass are sorted out.
