A window that will not close, a pane that has cracked overnight, a unit that has gone cloudy in the middle of winter. I have been fixing these problems for Addiscombe homes and businesses for over three decades, and I still get out to most jobs the same day. Give us a ring and we will get your window working properly again.
A clear price before any work starts
Common parts and glass carried on the van
All broken glass and mess cleared away
Every repair checked and tested before we leave
Plenty of firms will look at a faulty window and quote you for a whole new one. That is not how we work. My team and I will always try to bring your existing window back into good order first, because it is quicker, cheaper and usually all that is needed. If a full replacement genuinely is the better option, we will tell you honestly and explain why.

Direct Glass were extremely helpful to me when I needed a couple of windows fixing on the same day. They did everything they could to make sure the job was done asap and they have me a really good price too. The work itself was done really well, the guys were lovely to have around and they cleaned up really well afterwards. Very happy customer! Highly recommend 👌Posted on Google![]()

Obvious from the methodical way he works and total accuracy, that this guy/company knows what they’re about. A proper old school tradesman in a sea full of cowboys !Posted on Google![]()

Called for a v small window issue (double glazed glass had blown) and they couldn't have been nicer/more helpful. Reasonable quote, pleasant comms and swift/tidy replacement. Very happy to recommend this family run/local business. And a special shout out to Amber for answering my queries/being flex on my install date. 5* from me!Posted on Google![]()

Very good customer service, good value. Would recommend
Yes. The seal inside the unit has failed, not the frame. We measure the pane, order a matching unit and fit it into your existing frame, which keeps the cost well below a full window replacement.
If a replacement unit needs to be made to order, we will board or temporarily seal the opening so your property is secure and weatherproof, then return to fit the glass once it arrives.
Often, yes. uPVC frames tend to outlast the moving parts inside them, so a twenty year old window with a broken handle or failed unit is usually a straightforward fix rather than a write off.
In most cases we can. Three decades of trade relationships means we can source hinges, handles and locking mechanisms that are no longer sold on the high street, or match a modern equivalent that fits the same fixings.
Replacing glass within an existing frame does not need registration. Replacing the whole window does, and as a FENSA registered company we handle that paperwork for you.
